Grand Mesa Gliders (kids program)


Grand Mesa Gliders is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, dedicated to instructing youth in the various disciplilnes of cross country skiing and back-country safety and fostering the life-long enjoyment of cross country skiing.

Members of the Gliders are youth in Mesa, Montrose, and Delta Counties, Colorado. The Gliders’ mission includes making the sport of cross country skiing available to all.

The Little Gliders, ages 5-8, meet every Saturday morning at 10:15am in January at the Skyway trailhead with coaches Sarah and Kenton Shaw.

The Gliders, ages 9-16 (younger children with coaches’ approval), meet Saturdays from December through March at 10:00am at various trailheads on the Grand Mesa, with coaches Christina Stark, Annie Deprey, and Chris Murphy.

Grand Mesa Gliders participate in the five Grand Mesa Nordic Council races at Skyway trailhead, and travel to participate in the Aspen youth ski festival races in January.
