MESA MELTDOWN RESULTS

3-10-2012

SKYWAY

What a day for wrapping up the season ski racing! What a day to be alive!!!
Fabulous Colorado high country sunshine and warm temps greeted racers at Skyway
when they arrived for the Mesa Meltdown. Skiers came in from around the state
to enjoy the top notch GMNC grooming and terrain that we treasure. Terry Daley
spent the least amount of time out enjoying the course as he sped through
20K in just over an hour. Zach Heuscher was not far behind. Christie Aschwanden
in typical fashion blew away the women’s field as well as most of the men’s.
Most everyone else preferred to linger on the course a little longer and savor
the fun skiing.

The wins by Terry and Christie meant they handily captured the 4-race Series
titles as well. Both are previous Series winners continuing to show great
skill in both classic and freestyle skiing on both short and long courses
Great work! For their efforts, each won a nice prize from REI.

As always nothing would happen without our great volunteers Shirley and Bill
Ela, Dan Schultz-Ela, Doug Conant, Shannon Raborn and our steller parking
marshall Winslow Robertson! And thanks again to our generous sponsors Clif
Bar and Honey Stinger. We greatly appreciate their excellent energy products.
