April 11 Grooming Update

Just an FYI — temps are very warm on the Mesa, and conditions are very slushy and slow, except in trees and shade.  Also, if you get up early enough, earlier than 10:30 a.m., it is still getting cold enough that you can skate the crust on top.  However, we got a lot of red dust this past week, and it has clearly affected snow conditions, so you might want to bring rock skis, if you want to keep your bases clean.  There were some issues with drifts and grooming on Scales Lake, which created some difficult grooming, and Jon will be doing some limited snowmobile grooming on Wednesday a.m. to clean that up – Sunset, Winslow, Lion’s to Scales Lake, Loop 3 to the lookout and Dog Loop — touching up, and one more time on Friday, and then we are calling it for this season.  We are expecting a little snow on Tuesday — 1-3 inches, and then back to sunny skies and temps in  the mid 40s.  It’s been a great year and we surely appreciate all your support!
